Course 1 · Ledger foundations
Understand the chart of accounts
The Chart of Accounts lists every account used by the app. Inventory, COGS, AR, AP, and cash are the ones you'll see daily.
Use accounting periods
Accounting Periods control when entries can be posted. Post in the correct open period and close periods on schedule.
Read journal entries
Journal Entries record double-entry postings. Every workflow posting (GR-IR, COGS, AR, cash) creates one.
Exercise
- Open the Chart of Accounts and locate the key accounts.
- Check the current open accounting period.
- Open one journal entry and identify its debit and credit lines.

Course 2 · Invoicing & accounts receivable
Generate customer invoices
Run Invoice Creation from shipment data, then post with W14 AR invoice posting.
Review AR
Monitor Invoices aging: open, overdue, and disputed. Keep the AR view current.
Correct invoice errors
Handle errors with credit notes or adjustments per your policy; never edit posted invoices directly.
Exercise
- Generate and post an invoice from a shipment.
- Review the AR aging list.
- Identify one invoice that needs follow-up.

Course 3 · Bills & accounts payable
Enter supplier bills
Log Bills from goods receipts or vendor invoices and run W33 approval and posting.
Review AP
Monitor bills by due date and cash position. Approve only valid, matched bills.
Match to receipts
Match bill lines to goods receipts so you pay only for material actually received.
Exercise
- Enter a supplier bill and run W33.
- Match it to its goods receipt.
- Review the AP aging list.

Course 4 · Payments & reconciliation
Apply customer payments
Log Payments Received and run W15 to apply and post cash.
Pay supplier bills
Run W35 vendor payment + posting and record Payments Made.
Reconcile
Reconcile payments to invoices/bills and bank records. Investigate any unapplied or short payments.
Exercise
- Apply a customer payment to an invoice via W15.
- Pay one supplier bill via W35.
- Reconcile both to the bank records.

Course 5 · Period close & financial reports
Prepare for close
Confirm all receipts, shipments, invoices, bills, and payments are posted before closing the period.
Review the ledger
Scan journal entries for unposted or unusual items. Resolve before close.
Close and report
Close the accounting period, then run financial reports: P&L, balance sheet, AR/AP aging.
Exercise
- Run a completeness check on postings for the period.
- Review the journal entry list for anomalies.
- Close the period and run the P&L report.
